My wonderful parents received their mission call yesterday. We had the opportunity to all meet together at our house last night and everyone was there, including Jake and Maren and Tessa via web cam. It was emotional and wonderful as they read that letter from the Prophet that said they were assigned to labor for 18 months in the Illinois, Nauvoo mission. Needless to say they are very excited! I heard my mom say "it's like a dream come true". They love church history and love the Prophet Joseph smith. The area that their mission covers is Nauvoo and Carthage. I really think it is a perfect fit for them and know they will have many wonderful experiences.
I am so proud of them and their willingness to serve the Lord. They are good examples to me and my children and I love them very much! It will be hard to not have them around, but they are needed, and so that is where they need to be. (we've already started talking about plans to go on a family vacation to Nauvoo in the next year or so).

Tell the congrats from the Fowlks clan, that would be a great mission they will be awesome.
it was a nice evening and I felt like the call was meant to be.
We'll have to discuss the vacation further. We haven't forgotten the Black family get together!
